Mother's Day
Here's a Happy Mother's Day picture. (I wish their signs were more visible. Leslie likes to write words so that they have all the right letters, but she doesn't care about placement. Sabrina likes to scribble over my letters. She has a hard time drawing on actual paper, as she's an artist who prefers other mediums.)
I've heard people comment that Mother's Day Sacrament Meeting is usually all treacle and no substance, but we had a great talk today. An elderly man spoke about the choices made by Eve, the courage of Moses' mother; and the kindness of a woman he lived with on his mission whose son was a POW in Germany, and how they all called her "mother."

Snoooooooowman!
Children in Arizona seem to be obsessed with snowmen, given their opportunity to be around them. In Primary, the most requested song is "Once there was a snowman!" Sabrina sings this daily, only she mixes the tulip verse in, so it goes, "Once there was a snowman, tall tall tall! In the sun he grew up, grew up, grew up, in the sun he grew up, tall, tall tall!" It's a win-win song, about the magical AZ snowmen.
Here's one of Leslie's frequent renditions of a snowman.

Picking Lemons
Around the complex
Sabrina loves learning to balance on the curb and disdains all offers of assistance. It was tough on her the day the repainted it and we wouldn't let her go near it.

Leslie descending a staircase

Leslie loves posing for pictures, especially as a ballerina.

The kids like to pick the Lantanas that grow on huge bushes all around the complex.

We left the Backyardigan stickers up after Leslie's birthday so the kids can recognize our front door. In a fortress of beige apartments, it's nice to have some color.
